With what seems like a new video format being released (invented) every several months (HDV, AVCHD, miniDV, miniDVD, DV, etc.) when it comes to understanding video cameras & video camera formats “acronym confusion” is rampant. Combined with the multitude of, shall we say, “legacy formats” (8mm, SVHS, VHS, VHS-C, ¾”, BetaSP, etc.), different “classes” of cameras (consumer, prosumer, industrial & broadcast), and an ever-increasing number of camera components, features & accessories, make this class even more valuable. |
