 Today it sounds like the Pastor has a cold… But he’s perfectly healthy! And, why does the band sound funny? And where is that feedback coming from? Mixing is much more than just pushing a fader or turning a knob, particularly in a live environment. And mixing a church service is a lot more difficult than it appears on the surface. Volunteers with little or no training are presented with the same kinds of challenges that professionals struggle with all the time. Mixing a church service is truly an interactive experience, from the people (the worship team and band as well as the congregation) to the sound system, everything relates to each other. Mixing in a house of worship requires a servant’s heart, golden ears, combined with high-level diplomatic skills. This course covers the basics of getting things to sound like they should and providing a familiar listening environment, so that church members can get the full experience of the service without wondering why something doesn’t sound “quite right”. And the class provides insight on how to interact with people and equipment to make the most of the worship experience for everyone involved, including YOU! |
